Moving Day For Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic neurological disorder that involves an immune system attach against the central nervous system, made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. In between remissions, attacks can last anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of months, often drastically affecting a person’s everyday life. This debilitating disease causes different motor and sensory problems that vary in severity and from one person to another. A common symptom of MS is difficulty with walking, balance and coordination; turning simple everyday activities into physically exhausting and painful challenges. From this struggle, the motto “Keep Moving!” became embedded into the MS community and grew to represent something much bigger than a slogan.

Fight to end MSApproximately 2,500,000 individuals suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, with 200 new cases diagnosed each week. Using six degrees of separation as a basis for assessing these numbers, over 625,000,000 people are affected in some way by MS.Fight to end MS

Keep Moving!

“Keep Moving!” This powerful motto sparked an idea to join forces with the professional golf world. During pro golf tournaments, “Moving Day” represents the Saturday where competitors strive to move up the leader-boards. Every week of the “52” Saturdays throughout the year, Moving Day for MS and Peninsula Plastics will present our own leader-board showing which players “moved” the most! The goal is to RAISE awareness and funding to support individuals through programs we’ve created like “Ramp it Up” while developing for a CURE to end this devastating disease.
